Your Life Don't Get Better or Worse Because of Anyone Else

With the firm knowledge that the little me all the way in this tiny dot of an island, that had the audacity to take away 199 jobs meant for US citizens, have absolutely no power to alter the course of any outcome beyond the confines of my own bedroom, I put my phone away and went into a deep meditative state to find solace away from the furore on social media.
 
I emerged 3 minutes later irritated and distracted. The damn weather was just too hot to meditate. I'm going to make myself a drink. A stiff one. On the rocks.
 
30mins later, with a slight buzz and imbued with the wisdom of the ascended masters that only a good bottle of Irish's 18 years can bring, I sat at my laptop to document my plans for the future before I forget.

​First of all, I don't even care who wins. Cause quite frankly, we are minor players in this game of thrones. We aren't even the character who spat at Cersei. We are just Dirty Peasant #33. Power be to those with the money to call the shots. The poor people, the masses, we just stick to what we are good at and perhaps when the occasional chance arises, we get to cast our vote or write a blog article with only a handful of readers giving the thumbs up. ​

The bell in the background had more airtime on Game of Thrones than you did for this election.

​​Ok, maybe you might thumb your nose at my defeatist attitude. Yeah, I can understand why you would think that. I'm just not that guy who runs the streets with placards making peaceful protests. I already don't have time for my Sunday D&D games and my teammates are giving me grief over my absence. ​

In short, I don't have the time to hate. 

However, I have a plan in mind. Instead of wasting energy getting worked up about things beyond my control, I'm going to roll with the blows and react positively to the change. Whoever wins, there's no guarantee of a great future.

Tides will turn for some, and that is a given with a change in any establishment. Lives will change. History will be rewritten. And one other thing is for sure: You whining like a little bitch ain't gonna be worth a dime. ​

​So.

​This is what I will be doing: Roll up my sleeves. Read the papers. Look for opportunities. React to change. And where possible find leverage.

Sun will still rise again tomorrow and we will make it a better day as we always have. It's what you do - and it's entirely up to you - that will affect YOUR future.
